Buying gold in Hyderabad
Hyderabad quotes gold per 10 grams and per gram for 24K and 22K. Telangana and Andhra Pradesh are among India's biggest gold-buying states, with heavy demand around weddings.
The prices on this page are India's spot-based rate in INR: there is no separate exchange price for Hyderabad. Taxes and duties are explained on the gold price in India page.
Why Hyderabad prices differ from spot
Every Indian city starts from the same international price, converted to rupees and raised by the same 15% import duty and 3% GST. City rates then differ by small amounts — usually less than ₹100 per gram — because of transport and insurance from the port of entry, local jewellers' association rates, how much stock dealers hold and how hard they compete. The biggest difference between two shops is the making charge, typically 5% to 25% of the gold value for 22K jewellery.
Where Hyderabad buys gold
The bazaars around Charminar, including Pathergatti, are known for pearl and gold jewellery — Hyderabad is called the City of Pearls. Large chains and standalone jewellers operate across the city.
When Hyderabad buys gold
Ugadi, Akshaya Tritiya, Dhanteras and the wedding season are the busiest times.
