About these forecasts
Gold set its all-time high of about $5,595 an ounce on 29 January 2026, then had its worst quarter since 2013 in the spring as the Iran war pushed up oil prices and inflation, the Fed raised rates and the dollar strengthened (Reuters via Kitco). Nearly every bank cut its 2026 forecast between May and October 2026 while still expecting a recovery in 2027. For comparison, the LBMA's January 2026 survey of 28 analysts averaged about $4,742 for 2026 (LBMA).
We list numeric targets published by banks, asset managers and research firms, as reported by the firm itself or by established financial media. Each row links to the page we checked. Targets refer to different things — a price on a date, a quarterly average or a yearly average — so compare the "For" column before comparing numbers. We do not include social-media personalities or price-prediction websites.
Forecasts are opinions, made with information available at the time, and they are revised often. They are not a recommendation to buy or sell, and Corgano does not make price predictions of its own.
