About 1 baht
Thai gold is sold by the baht weight at 96.5% purity (about 23K): 15.244 g for bars (ทองคำแท่ง) and 15.16 g for jewellery (ทองรูปพรรณ). A quarter baht is one salueng. Shops follow the buying and selling prices announced several times a day by the Gold Traders Association (สมาคมค้าทองคำ); jewellery adds a making charge (ค่ากำเหน็จ). The figure here is the world-price value of the gold, so the association's selling price is usually a little higher and its buying price a little lower. Gold price in Thailand →
